The Android-Version is available since January 1, 2011 in the Android Market.

13. How can I purchase the Android version of iForest if I don’t own a cedit card?

The easiest solution would be to purchase iForest using a credit card of a friend or family member. The credit card holder does not have to be the same person as the owner of the device on which iForest will be installed. Another option is to purchase iForest via the AndroidPIT Market, where you can purchase iForest using PayPal. PayPal allows you to set up a free account which also accepts a bank account as the preferred payment method.

14. I bought iForest in the App Store today, but it only runs in French. How come?

Most likely you have set your iPhone on "French".
iForest works by using language recognition. The language cannot be changed in iForest itself.

To use iForest in e.g. German you need to set your iPhone, iPod touch or iPad to "German" (the same applies to the other available languages Englisch, Italian and French).
Proceed as follows:

1. Select "Settings" (usually on the home screen) (French "Reglages")
2. Select "General" (French "General")
3. Select "International" (French "International")
4. Select "Language" (French "Langue")
5. Select the desired language by tapping on it
6. Confirm by selecting "OK" on the top right

You can now leave the settings menu.

After restarting iForest it will now run in the selected language. We have chosen to use the language recognition so that iForest automatically runs on the language set on your device. We have not planned to include an language choice option in the app itself.

15. What's new in iForest version 2.0?

Version 2.0 is available since December 18, 2010, and contains the following improvements:

- all images in a higher resolution
- new group "climbing plants"
- supports landscape format

- new icons

16. Which Android devices are most suitable for use outdoors?

Do a google search with "android outdoor" - this will give you information on devices which are suitable for use outdoors.

17. I can't move the app onto the SD card. I always get the error message "not enough memory".

Please consult the manual of your device for problems with memory cards or visit the iForest support forum. Other users using the same device might have already found a solution for your problem.

18. iForest can't be installed or updated on my smartphone.

If you're having problems installing iForest, the following advice might also help:

1) Your internal memory needs a free memory at least double the size of the app, even when installing on a SD card.
2) Delete the application and download it again (free of charge)
3) Delete the file smdl2tmp1.asec (Use the gogle search "smdl2tmp1.asec", a tipp from the website http://www.android-hilfe.de/744745-post14.html).
4. Remove the SD card until iForest is completely installed. This requires enough internal memory on your device.
5) Google search with "installation problem" and the name of your device or http://www.google.com/support/androidmarket/bin/topic.py?topic=1046719

Generally, the problem can only be caused by iForest if the app can be started. We only supply the code for iForest, which becomes effective after starting the application, not the code for the Android Market, download or installation process.

19. Change language directly in iForest

It is possible to change the language directly in iForest so you can use the app e.g. in French, while your country setting remains "German". Thus the language of your country setting is overruled by iForest. The language change is provided somewhat hidden as it is rarely used and we would like to keep the navigation as lean as possible.
The following instruction shows you how to change the language in iForest to French as an example:
1. Select the menu "list" from the tab bar
2. select "search in iForest"
3. Type in the following command: if iForest should run in French "lang=fr", if you'd like to run it in English "lang=en", and restart iForest (Italian "lang=it", German "lang=de").

Sprachwahl_en
4. Select the blue button "search"
5. iForest logs out (screen shows "bye")
6. leave iForest using the home button
7. press the home button shortly two times
8. the iForest icon appears in the footer of the screen
9. hold your finger on the iForest icon until it moves
10. select the red button on the top left of the moving iForest icon (shuts down iForest)
11. start iForest again, it will now run in French
This option allows you to run iForest in English, French, Italian or German independently of your country setting.
